Sophie & Henry's New Farm Park Wedding | Brisbane Wedding Photography
Some weddings perfectly capture what a wedding day is all about—celebrating with the people you love in a way that feels completely true to you. Sophie and Henry's New Farm Park wedding was exactly that. Filled with genuine emotion, plenty of laughter, and countless personal touches, their day was a beautiful reminder that the best weddings don't have to follow tradition—they just have to reflect the couple.
Their ceremony took place beneath the iconic fig trees at New Farm Park in Brisbane, one of the city's most picturesque wedding ceremony locations. Surrounded by family, friends, and the park's beautiful greenery, Sophie and Henry exchanged heartfelt vows in a relaxed and intimate setting before making their way to an incredible backyard reception.
Rather than choosing a traditional wedding venue, they transformed a family backyard into a stunning reception space filled with colourful florals, handcrafted details, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Every element of the day had been thoughtfully planned, creating a celebration that felt personal from beginning to end. As the evening unfolded, guests enjoyed great food, heartfelt speeches, and one of the most memorable silent discos I've seen at a wedding.
Their unique DIY wedding didn't just leave an impression on everyone who attended—it was also featured in The Courier-Mail, recognising the creativity and care that went into bringing their vision to life.
As a Brisbane wedding photographer, weddings like Sophie and Henry's are some of my favourites to photograph. My approach is all about documenting genuine moments as they naturally unfold, allowing couples to be fully present while creating timeless photographs they'll treasure for years to come. From the emotion of the ceremony to the energy of the dance floor, every part of their day was a joy to capture.
