Alex & Tom's Serendipity Gardens Wedding | California Wedding Photography

Some weddings are extra special, and Alex and Tom's wedding at Serendipity Gardens in California was definitely one of them. Having met both of them while studying at university in Hawaii, it was such an honour to travel from Brisbane, Australia to photograph the wedding of two close friends. Tom, originally from New Zealand, and I spent years playing basketball together at college, while Alex, who grew up in California, was a standout volleyball player at the same university. Although they were living in Brisbane when they got married, it meant so much to them to celebrate their wedding close to Alex's hometown, surrounded by family, friends, and the incredible Californian landscape.

Serendipity Gardens provided the perfect setting for their wedding day. Nestled amongst rolling hills, towering mountains, and lush greenery, the venue offered beautiful views in every direction. Their outdoor ceremony overlooked the surrounding countryside, creating an unforgettable backdrop as they exchanged vows. As the sun began to set, we stepped outside the venue and made the most of the golden Californian light, using the quiet country roads, natural ridgelines, and stunning mountain scenery to create some of my favourite portraits of the day.

Being trusted to photograph the wedding of close friends is something I'll never take for granted. The entire day was filled with genuine emotion, endless laughter, and so many moments that reflected exactly who Alex and Tom are as a couple. It was a privilege to capture their celebration at Serendipity Gardens, and it's a wedding I'll always look back on with a smile.
